Darfur. Genocide. More than 200.000 people are murdered or died because of malnutrition or diseases. More than 2.5 million people are displaced. Why isn't the government of the Darfurian people doing anything, you might ask.
Because the government is the one who caused this disaster.
We want to help the Darfurians in every way we can and we believe there are more people out there wanting to help them. We care about Darfur.
And we hope you do, too.
If you do, please subscribe. We're going to start different kinds of actions to make people more aware of the genocide happening in Darfur as we're writing and you're reading this, right now.
Please spread the word. Tell your friends, your family. Post a journal. Do something.
Why you should keep in touch:
- The 'I know you don't care about Darfur' project.
The idea is to make a piece of art or write a poem etc, with 'Darfur' as theme, then uploading it on DA and telling us.
With your permission we'll upload your on this account, thus alerting the other subscribers. We'll link back to you, of course.
- Journals
Within the Netherlands, there is just one Darfur action group. It has ten members, all college students. We're planning to found a group on our school too and we want to contact the other action group. We're going to write journals about our progressions.
- Reviews and Discussions
Right now, we have watched two documentary films:
'Sand and Sorrow' and
'Darfur Now'.
We're going to write reviews about these and other documentary films. Also, we're going to have discussions about specific parts of the conflict in Darfur.
If the only thing you know about Darfur right now, is that people are being murdered, maybe you should read a bit more about it here:

'We' are

Renetta and Eve

We've been obsessed with the Darfur conflict for about half a year now. We've been thinking what we could do to help the Darfurians for a long time and have concluded that first of all we should spread the word. Thus we created the 'I Care About Darfur' account.
Please subscribe and tell your friends to do so, too. We'll update soon!
